ln(x+3)=ln4+ln(x-3)

I've been having trouble with this problem. I keep on getting x+2=x

What does "In" stand for? Is it a variable? If so, you can't solve the problem because there are two variable and we don't know the value of either. Please clarify on this bit so I can try to help!

This is a page that i always keep handy.

How about
ln(x+3) - ln(x-3) = ln4

ln{ (x+3)/(x-3) } = ln4

(x+3)/(x-3) = 4

x+3 = 4(x-3)
.....
x=5

That was a tricky one
