Solve for x:
x^2/8-(727 x)/7 = 0

 

Factor x and constant terms from the left hand side:
1/56 x (7 x-5816) = 0

 

Multiply both sides by 56:
x (7 x-5816) = 0

 

Split into two equations:
x = 0 or 7 x-5816 = 0

 

Add 5816 to both sides:
x = 0 or 7 x = 5816

 

Divide both sides by 7:
Answer: |  x = 0       or        x = 5816/7

Probably you are looking for the zeros.

 

(x^2/8) - (((727*x)/7)) = 0

x2 / 8 - 727x / 7 = 0                   [ * 8

x2 - 830.857142x = 0  

x * (x - 830.857142) = 0            

 

x1 = 0

 

x2 = 830.857142
