simplify to

8x+2<6x-9

we can add 9 to both sides and subtract 8x from both sides

11<-2x

divide by -2

-5.5>x

8x + 2   <   6x - 9       add 9 to both sides, subract 8x from both sides

 

11 <  -2x          divide both sides by - 2 and reverse the inequality sign
