Solve the inequality $(s + 8)(s - 1) \le 0.$

It is the area bound by the 2 zeros, which are \(s - 1 = 0 \) and \(s + 8 = 0 \)

 

Anything between these ranges work, thus the answer is \(\color{brown}\boxed{-8 \le x \le 1}\)
