Solve the system by the method of substitution.

y= x^3 − x^2  +2

y= x^3 + 15x + 2

(there is supposed to be { on the left, around the two equations together

a.  (5, 102), (–3, –34), (0, 2)

b.  (5, 102), (–1, –12)

c.  (5, 102), (3, 56), (1, 18)

d.  no real solution

e.  (–3, –34), (1, 18)

I already answered this question.

y= x^3 − x^2  +2

y= x^3 + 15x + 2

 x^3 − x^2  +2 = x^3 + 15x + 2

  this rearranges to give

0=x^2+15x

0=x(x+15)

x=0   or   x=-15

sub these back in and you get  (0,2)    and  (-15, -3598)  these are the solutions

Here is the graph

Thse solutions that are offered are all wrong.
