e: e+4/ e-2 = 1/3
1E+4/1E-2=1/3
2=1/3

I might need some assistance as well..
Solve for x:
(x+4)/(x-2) = 1/3
Cross multiply:
3 (x+4) = x-2
Expand out terms of the left hand side:
3 x+12 = x-2
Subtract x+12 from both sides:
2 x = -14
Divide both sides by 2:
Answer: | x = -7
P.S I REPLACED YOUR VARIABLE "e" WITH "x", BECAUSE "e" HAS A SPECIAL MEANING IN MATH.
It's yet another example of the ambiguous equations that keep turning up.
Is it supposed to be (e +4)/(e-2) = 1/3, (which I suspect is the case), or is it 'as written',
e + (4/e) - 2 = 1/3 ?
If it's the first then simply cross multiply and solve the resulting linear equation, if it's the second, multiply throughout by e and solve the quadratic.
