The answer will come from one, or more, of these intervals  :

 

(- inf, -4), (-4, 2)  and (2. inf)

 

If we pick  0 in the middle interval and 3 in the last interval as "test" points, the inequality is not true

 

If we pick any x value less than -4, the inequality is true
