A building is 75 feet tall. The angle between the ground and hypotenuse of the right triangle is 18 degrees. Find the side and hypotenuse lengths.
I think you might have made a slight error???
If the building is 75 ft tall......the adjacent side to the given angle - A - can be found thusly :
tan(18) = 75/ A re-arrange
A = 75/ tan(18) = about 230.826 ft
The hypotenuse =
sqrt(230.826^2 + 75^2) = 242.705 ft. .....note.... this is NOT the building height!!!!......it's the distance from where the angle of elevation was measured to the top of the building
