My problem is 1.2x-4y=28, and i have to find the solution to y. would i subtract -1.2x to -4y? im just wondering. Thx
1.2x - 4y = 28
Subtract 1.2x from each side
-4y = 28 - 1.2x
Multiply through by -1
4y = 1.2x - 28 divide both sides by 4
y = [ 1.2x - 28 ] / 4 = [0.6x - 14] / 2 [reduced ]
y = 0.3x - 7
