\({|6 - x | = 2}\), where \({x = 4, 8}\)
I understand where the 4 came from, but how did they come up with 8?
l 6 - x l = 2
We actually have two equations here
6 - x = 2 and 6 - x = -2
subtract 6 from both sides
-x = - 4 -x = -8
multiply through by -1
x = 4 x = 8
