Suppose we have a bag with 10 slips of paper in it. Eight of these have a 3 on them and the other two have a 9 on them.

d) How many 9's do we have to add to make the expected value equal to 6?

e) How many 9's do I have to add before the expected value is at least 8?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to this site, so if there's anything I should fix, please let me know. Thanks so much! :)

I will let you know.

This is the same type of question as you just asked. I expect you have not EVEN looked at the other answer yet!

We are not here to do all your homework for you.

First Melody, thank you for telling me what I did wrong. Like I said, I'm new to this site, and I thought I was following the rules properly but obviously I was not. I have now looked at the other answer and I will watch the youtube video. If I am still not able to figure it out, I will ask for further details. I'm sorry for posting both of the questions. I saw other people didn't post more than around 2 or 3 like a), b) in one question, so that's what I tried to do. However, I guess that was wrong.

I understand that you are not here to do my homework for me, I was trying to find some advice, however, thank you for telling me the rules. I will leave this post up (how do you delete things anyway?) so maybe other people have a better grasp of the rules.

Anyway, I'm sorry, and thanks for telling me what I did wrong. Hope you have a good day! :D

That is ok.

It is difficult to work out the 'rules'.

I know a lot of people are not doing the right things so what is considered desirable can be difficult to ascertain.

Plus we all (answerers) have slightly different attitudes. You have had a big dose of my attitude.
