Some researchers wanted to know how many salmon were in a local river. The researchers marked 520 salmon with tags. Later, they captured 1,200 salmon and found that 52 of them had tags. To the nearest whole number, what is the best estimate for the salmon population?

That is a good question :/

520 in total have tags.

and   52/1200 have tags

\(\frac{52*10}{1200*10}=\frac{520}{12000}\)

so I would think that about 520 out of 12000 have tags.

The population is about 12000      laugh
