I am not sure what you mean ://

\(\sqrt3+\sqrt8\\ =\sqrt3+\sqrt{4*2}\\ =\sqrt3+2\sqrt{2}\\ \)

= approx

sqrt(3)+sqrt(8 = 4.5604779323150674

---------------------------------

sqrt3(2)+sqrt8(2)

\(\sqrt[3]{2}+\sqrt[8]{2} = can't \;be\;simplified\)

2^{1/3}+2^{1/8} =  2.3504287825601309

I guess this is what you meant.

You should have expressed it as

The third root of 3 + the eight root of 2  :)

I'll just play with it a bit more

\(2^{1/3}+2^{1/8}\\ 2^{8/24}+2^{3/24}\\ 2^{3/24}(2^{5/24}+1)\\\)

2^(3/24)*(2^(5/24)+1 = 2.3504287825601308

you can do this but it is not helpful !
