suzan: what is the square root of 12
what is the square root of 147
what is the square root of 63
how to find a square root of something
Faf is completely correct - thank you for your good answer.
I am not going to do your homework for you but I will show you how to simplify them with a similar question
sqrt(200)
I have to look for a square number that is a factor of 200. 100 goes into 200 and its a square number, that's a good one.
sqrt(200) = sqrt(100*2) = sqrt(100) * sqrt(2) = 10*sqrt(2)
If there is no squared number that is a factor then the surd cannot be simplified (A surd is a number under a square root that can't be expressed as a rational number)
