For the first one, we have

4√( x20y28) = 4√ (x(5*4)y(4*7)) = 4√ (16*5*7*xy) = 16√(35xy ).... (Note....We took out a "4" and multiplied it by the one on the "outside")

I don't understand your second question.....are we wanting to solve this for "x"....  ???

Well....the square root of 4 = 2....so we have....

2x = 16/18

Can you take it from here????

OK...so we have

2x = 8/9

And we're trying to solve for x.....we've finished the "square root" part

What if I multiplied both sides by 1/2.....what would happen???
