A mountain is located 27 kilometers from a hilltop. From the hilltop, a surveyor determines that the angle of elevation to the top of the mountain is 6∘6∘ and that the angle of depression to the bottom of the mountain is 2∘2∘. How tall is the mountain? Round your answer to the nearest thousandth The degree symbol is ∘ by the way. Help appreciated!

Omi  has the right approach, but I believe  the number should be 27 instead of 24

 

So  the height should be

 

27  [tan(6°)  +  tan (2°) ]   ≈  3.78  km
