If I read this correctly, the slide would form the hypotenuse of a right triangle with two legs of length 9 ft  and 6.5 ft.......if so, the slide length is given by :

 

sqrt [ 9^2 + 6.5^2 ]   ≈   11.1  ft  =   11 ft   [rounded to the nearest foot ]

Agree.....IF the 9 ft  vetical support is at the upper END of the slide...but we do not know this....
