What is y=4x+5 and -12x + 3y=5 ?
-12x + 3y=5 y=4x+5 put in this value for 'y'
-12x + 3(4x+5) = 5
-12x + 12x + 15 = 5 error !
15 = 5 ERROR! Did you post your question correctly ????
y = 4x + 5 rearrange as
-4x + y = 5 (1)
Note that if we divide the second equation by 3 we get that
-4x + y = 5/3 (2)
But notice that - 4x + y couldn't be equal to two different values ( 5 and 5/3)
So.....as EP found....we have no solutions !!!!
