Suppose a_0 = -1. Write the first 6 terms of the sequence a_n= a_(n-1) +2

a₀  = -1

a₁ = 1

a₂ = 3

a₃ = 5

a₄ = 7

a₅ = 9

How did you get that??? I keep getting 2 for a_1

We are adding 2 to every successive term....so a₁ =   a₀  + 2 =     -1 + 2  = 1

But a_1=a_1-1 +2 which equAls 0+2 which is 2 ???

I think you're confused about the "formula"

We have

a_n  = a_{(n - 1)}  + 2

So.....a₁   =  a_(1-1) + 2   =   a₀  + 2    =    -1  + 2   = 1
