I'm not sure if this is what you mean....but I think you have....

x / y = 4 / 7 and y / z = 14 / 3

Note that the first fraction can also be expressed as x / y = 8 / 14

So

[x + y ] / z = [8 + 14 ] / 3 = 22 / 3

Suppose xy=47\frac {x}{y} = \frac {4}{7} and yz=143\frac {y}{z} = \frac {14}{3}. What is the value of x+yz\frac {x + y}{z}? Express your answer as a common fraction.
