Surds Question: (2+squareroot(3))(1+squareroot(2))
You CAN just use the calculator to find the answer OR you can multiply it through to get:
2 + 2sqrt2 + sqrt3 + sqrt3sqrt2 I think the first option is the easiest to get: 9.00999 ~ ~ 9
I cannot use the calculator as it's a surds question
Expand the following: (2+sqrt(3)) (1+sqrt(2)) (2+sqrt(3)) (1+sqrt(2)) = (2) (1) + (2) (sqrt(2)) + (sqrt(3)) (1) + (sqrt(3)) (sqrt(2)): 2+2 sqrt(2)+sqrt(3)+sqrt(3) sqrt(2) sqrt(3) sqrt(2) = sqrt(3×2): 2+2 sqrt(2)+sqrt(3)+sqrt(3×2) 3×2 = 6: Answer: | 2+2sqrt(2)+sqrt(3)+ sqrt(6 )
