1.) What is the length of a rectangle with width 20 in. and area 148 in.6^2? The length is__in. 2) The scale of a map is 1 cm : 70 km. What is the actual distance between two towns that are 3 cm apart on the map 3.) A used-car dealership buys a car for $2900 and then sells it for $4500. What is the percent increase? The percent of increase is about__% (Round to the nearest whole number as needed)
Do you guys get paid to answer all these questions? xD or is it outta fun and competion?
1) If the area is 148 sq in., and the width is 20 in., we need to divide 148 by 20 to find the length...so we have
148/20 = 7.4 in
2) If 1cm = 70K then 3cm would be 3*70 = 210K
3) To find the % increase use
(New - Old) / Old = (4500-2900) / 2900 = about 55%
No....we don't get paid.....but donations ARE accepted......let me give you my address so you can send your check there.....!!!! (just kidding.....)
2) We already know that 1 cm = 70 km in this scale. Three times as many centimeters would mean three times as many kilometers so 3cm=210 KM

3) an increase from 2900 to 4500 is an increase of 1600. 1600/2900=.55 (rounded to nearest hundredth) so this is about a 55% increase
Of course we get paid! Our currency is math problems and we get them upfront. Thanks for the three that you just donated!
