The altitude of an equilateral triangle is sq. root 6 units. What is the area of the triangle, in square units? Express your answer in simplest radical form.

The altitude in such a triangle will result in a half-base that is (1/ √3) as long as the altitude....

So this half-base =  √6 / √3  = √2

So...the area of this triangle  = √2 * √6 = √12  = √[4 *3]  = 2√3 sq. units
