the base is 10 in. the height is 2 in. more than half the base. find the area

Well, the easy part of the question is is finding the height. Half the base is 5, add 2 to that, you get 7in. The actual problem is finding what the shape this question is referring to. There is simply not enough information to solve. However, I'm assuming that these dimensions are those for a rectangle(or parallelogram). In this case, the area is 70 square inches. If it's for a triangle, half that number.
