why doesn't this calculator have fractions

Just use the / button to enter denominators

Although I'm not the most "technical" user of the calculator, it will add and subtract fractions (and reduce them to simplest form). It will also convert an "unknown" decimal to a fraction.

I think that to enter a mixed numeral you probably have to do this

1+1/6

And if you want to do calculation with mixed numerals you probably need to use brackets

(6+3/4)-(9+1/2)

Am I right or is there another way?
