The data in the table shows a sinusoidal relationship between the number of seconds an object has been moving and its velocity v(x), measured in centimeters per second.
x
| x | 4 | 8 | 12 | 16 | 20 | 24 | 28 | 32 | 36 | 40 | 44 | 48 |
| v(x) | 41.7 | 35.7 | 28.3 | 22.3 | 20 | 22.3 | 28.3 | 35.7 | 41.7 | 44 | 41.7 | 35.1 |

What is true of the cosine function that models the data in the table?
Drag a value into each box to correctly complete the statements.
The period of the cosine function is ___. The equation of the midline of the cosine function is y = ___. The amplitude of the cosine function is ___
I think the answers are 8, 20, and 12 but I am not sure.
You should plot all of the given points to more easily answer this question....
Sorry....all of your answers appear to me to be incorrect ![]()
It LOOKS like the period is 32 at t= 4 value is 41,7 then it decreases and rises back up to 41.7 at t = 36
36-4 = 32 s
The min is 20 the max is 41.7 (41.7-20)/2 = amplitude Midline = 20 + amplitude
These values are garnered by looking at the data in the table....a graph of the data would be better...especially when they ask for phase shifts in similar questions....![]()
