The diameter of a clocks face is 6 inched find the length of the minor arc formed by the hands of the clock at 4:00 to the nearest hundredth

arc = (6pi/360^o)*120^o

arc = 6.28in

The radius of the clock is 3  = r

And the angle betwen the hands  = 120°  = (2/3)pi rads

And the arc length formula is given by :

s  = rΘ     where s is the arc length and Θ  is in rads

So we have....

s = 3 (2/3)pi = 2 pi  = 6.28 in
