The half-life of iodine is 8 days. A doctor administers a 12 unit treatment to a patient. What is the exponential decay equation to find how much iodine is left in the patient after 24 days?
R= 12 x 2^(-24/8), where R =Remainder.
R= 12 x 2^-3
R =12 x 1/8
R = 1.5 units of iodine after 24 days.
I like the way you did that, Guest........way easier than solving logs......I'm adding that to my bag of "tricks"
Cphill: Thanks for the compliment. I had shown previously that this simple method is equivalent to the logs' method.
