The lenght of a rectangle is twice its breadth and the perimeter is 6/7 m what is the area of the rectangle?

OK, so the perimeter is given by 2(W + L), but L = 2W, so this simplifies to 2(W + 2W) = 2(3W) = 6W

So we have...

(6/7) m = 6W     dividing everything by 6, we have

W = (1/7) m      and L is twice this = (2/7)m

And the area = L X W   =   (1/7)m X (2/7)m  =  (2/49) m2
