   The length of a room is 16.43 m, its width is 4.9 m, and its height is 3.25 m.

   What volume does the room enclose with correct amount of significant figures?

   V   =  16.43 m • 4.9 m • 3.25 m

   V  =  261.64775 m3   —>   rounds to 261.6 m3

   When multiplying several factors with varying lengths

   of decimal fractions, the rule is to round the product to

   the same number of decimal places as the factor with

   the fewest decimal places.  In this case, one decimal

   place, because the factor with the fewest is 4.9.
