Mean  =   [ Sum of the Values ] /  [ Number of Values ]  =

[ −54 + (−32) + (−70) + (−25) + (−65) + (−42)  ]  / 6  =

[ -288 ]  / 6  =

-48

Find the mean of the integers.

−54,−32,−70,−25,−65,−42

\(\begin{array}{|rcll|} \hline && \frac{-54-32-70-25-65-42}{6} \\ &=& \frac{-(70+25)-(54+42)-(32+65)}{6} \\ &=& \frac{-95-96-97}{6} \\ &=& \frac{-96-1-96-96+1}{6} \\ &=& -\frac{3*96}{6} \\ &=& -\frac{96}{2} \\ &=& -48 \\ \hline \end{array}\)
