F(x)=x^2-2x+p

F '(x)  = 2x  - 2

Set to 0, and this function has a minimum when x = 1

So

F(1)  = -2

(1)^2 - 2(1) + p = -2

1 - 2 + p = -2

-1 + p = -2    add 1 to both sides

p = -1
