the number of girls in the club has decreased by 10%.

now there is an equal number of boys and girls.

what was the original boy:girl ratio?

Look at your first post.

If you like it I can copy it here.

\((1+35\%)b=(1-10\%)g\\ \dfrac{b}{g}=\dfrac{(1-10\%)}{(1+35\%)}=\dfrac{0.9}{1.35}=\dfrac{2}{3}\\ \therefore b:g = 2:3\)
