The sides of this parallelogram measure 7,9, 8y-1 and 2x+3 units, consecutively. What is the value of x+y?

When a Quadrilateral is  a parallelogram ,the two pairs of opposite sides are equal.

so we can set up the equation like 7=8y-1 and 2x+3=9 , then we get y=1 and x=3

so the awnser  is x+y=3+1=4

Just set each equation equal to its opposite side and solve......!!!!
