These two spinners are divided into thirds and quarters, respectively. If each of these spinners is spun once, what is the probability that the product of the results of the two spins will be an even number? Express your answer as a common fraction.

In multiplying 2 numbers, there are three different combinations:

i. Even * Even = Even

ii. Even * Odd = Even

iii. Odd * Even = Even

iv. Odd * Odd = Odd

So if 4 is spun on the first spinner, that's automatically 4 evens results (because of ii) or a 4/12 chance of an even product.

If 3 or 5 is spun on the second spinner, there's two results (6 and 8) which will yield even numbered products for each (because of iii), So that's 2*2= 4 or a 4/12 chance of an even product.

4/12 + 4/12 = 8/12 = 2/3 chance of an even product.
