How do I calculate the rotations of car tires for 10,000 miles. The diameter is 18 inches and the circumference is 50.3 centimeters.

If the diameter is 18 inches, then the circumference  = 18pi   inches

So....in 10,000 mi, we will travel

10000* 5280* 12 =   633,600,000 inches

So the number of rotations will be

[total inches traveled ] /  [ inches in one rotation] =

633,600,000/ [18pi]   = about   1.12045 x 10^7  rotations = about 11,204,500  rotations

If the diameter is 18 inches

the CIRCUMFERENCE is 56.54 inches.... NOT 50.3 cm

10000 miles x 5280 feet/mile x 12 in/foot  / 56.54 in =11204508 rotations
