Input torque for a transmission is 15 FT*LB with a ratio of 2.3:1 and single mesh efficiency of 98.5%. What is the output torque?
Torque ratio is the ratio of the OUTPUT TORQUE to the INPUT TORQUE = 2.3:1 (given)
so the out put will be 2.3 times the input 15 ft lb x 2.3 = 34.5 ft lb BUT some of the torque energy is lost in the meshing gears, so out put is only 98.5% 34.5 (.985) = 33.98 ft lb
I am not positive here.
