Find the perimeter of the trapezoid below      

 

We need the height of the rectangular part of the figure.  Call that height "H"     

 

c² = a² + b²     —>>     a²  =  c² – b²     In this Pythagorean equation, "a" is our "H".     

                                    H²  =  10² – 6²     

                                    H²   =  100 – 36     

                                    H²  =  64     

                                    H    =    8     

 

Perimeter, going clockwise from the bottom point of the triangle     

 

                                     P  =  19 + 8 + 13 + 10     

                                     P  =  50
