First....realize this is a right triangle

   Pythagorean theorem

       (sqrt5)^2 + (sqrt8)^2 = sqrt13 ^2  

area = 1/2 b * h    = 1/2 (sqrt5 * sqrt8 ) = sqrt 10  units2
