what is sin(t) if cot(t)=9

cot = x/y       sin  = y/r       r = sqrt ( x^2 + y^2)    ......so we have.....

 

cot(t)  = 9/1      r = sqrt[ 9^2 + 1^1]  = sqrt [ 82]

 

So.....sin(t)   =  1/ sqrt(82)  =  sqrt(82) / 82

Use right-angled triangle where

length of side opposite angle (t) = 1

length of side adjacent to angle (t)= 9

then hypotenuse length = sqrt(82)

so sin(t) =1/sqrt(82)
