A television camera on a blimp is focused on a football field with an angle of depression of 28.2 degrees. A range finder on the blimp determines that the distance from the blimp to the field is 1640 m. How high is the blimp?
tan 28.2 = 1640x
=> 0.5361 = 1640x
=> 0.5361x = 1640
=> x = 1640 \ .5361
=> x = 3059 m
Did i completley fail or something? But thats what I got.
Tan28.2(the degrees) is = or aka .5361 when calculated(for me anyway)
So just dividing the height of the blimp which is 1640, by the tan28.2(in decimal)(.5361)
should be the answer? no?
