You add/multiply then you divide/ vise versa causing you to have an answer therefore yo will come up with an EXAMPLE of 20*30/10=6

I'll assume that your quilt is made out of right angled triangles where one side is 4cm and one angle is 40 degrees (so the other angle has to be 50 degrees)
If 4cm is the shorter side than the other side is 4.7670cm
If 4 cm is the longer side then the other side is 3.3564cm
