finding the length of a triangle, my degree is 48, opposite is 9cm and the hyp is x. How would i solve it?
Here are some starters....it is a right triangle so one angle is 90 one is 48 (given) and the other is 180-90-48= 42
Sin 48 = 9/x (opposite over hypot)
Can you take it from there? (Once you calc hyp, you should be able to calc the other leg...a couple of ways)
sin 48 = 9/x
x = 9/sin 48 = 12.11 = hypot
Pythagor theor to find the othe leg 9^2 + x^2 = 12.11^2 x = 8.1 cm = other leg
