Tan(theta) = 3/4

 

opposite/adjacent = 3/4

 

That means the opposite side is 3 and the adjacent side is 4

 

Using the Pythagorean Theorem

 

c = sqrt(3^2 + 4^2)

c = 5

 

cosine(theta): adjacent/hypotenuse

cosine(theta): 4/5
