Knowing that Sin(30)=1/2, find Cos(30) and Tan(30)

Sin   = opposite/ hypotenuse = O / H

 

Sin (30) = opposite / hypotenuse  =  1 / 2      

 

We need to find the adjacent side  = sqrt( H^2 - O^2 )  = sqrt ( 2^2  - 1^2 )   = sqrt (4 - 1) =

sqrt (3)

 

Cos(30) =   adjacent / hypotenuse =    sqrt (3)  / 2 

 

Tan (30) =     opposite / adjacent  =  1 / sqrt (3)     =  sqrt (3)  / 3
