Please factor it with steps, thanks!

I have the answer, just not the steps. Can you give me the steps Electric?

I just did it in my head....but you can (again) use the Quadratic formula to fin the values of x

\(x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}\)

\(x = {-1 \pm \sqrt{1^2-4(1)(-2)} \over 2(1)}\)   x = -1/2 +- (sqrt9)/2  = -1/2+- 3/2  =  -2 or 1

so the roots are -2 or 1      x+2   or  x-1     so     (x+2)(x-1)=0   results in x=-2 or 1
