There is no solution. If you think that there is one, you are implying that the sugar was COMPLETELY evenly divided throughout the cake.

[8/3] [1/4]  = 8 / 12  = 2 / 3 cups of sugar in the cake

 

[2/3] [3/10]  = [ 2 / 10] [ 3 / 3]  = 2 /10  * 1  =  2/10  = 1 / 5  cups eaten
