I have a 30 question practice quiz and im expected to show my knowledge but I don't know how to figure these two out and i'm a little stuck.

Which answer represents the series in sigma notation?

2. Which answer represents the series in sigma notation?

1. Going by the answer...this helps.

(A): The sum of the series is 2/4+3/4+..8/4, and this is incorrect. 

(B): We have 4^0+4^1+...4^7, and this is also incorrect.

(C): The sum of the series is 1+1/4+...+1/4096, and this works!

(D): Try it, it doesn't even match: 3/4+...etc.

 

Thus, the answer is (C).
