two step equation

well think, 2 times what plus 8 = 12? well only one thing works ther : 2.  (2•2) +8 =12

2y + 8 = 12

2y + 8 - 8 = 12 - 8

2y = 4

2y /2 = 4 /2

y = 2

This is the Asian way that I learn.

Below is the Western way :)

2y + 8 = 12

2y = 4

y = 2

No wonder why you guys do stuff faster.

You guys should feel thankful that you don't need to do it the Asian way.
