David, Peter and Andrew shared a bag of sugared buns.  David took

1/2 the bag of sugared buns and half a bun. Peter took 1/2 the remaining bag

of sugared buns and half a bun.  Andrew took the rest.  If Andrew

received 7 sugared buns, how many sugared buns were there in the bag

at first?

Hello Guest!

\(\dfrac{x+1}{2}+\dfrac{1}{2}(x-\dfrac{x+1}{2})+7=x\\ 0.5x+0.5+0.5x-0.25x-0.25+7-x=0\\ -0.25x=-7.25\)

\(x=29\)

29 sugared buns were there in the bag at first.

(15 at David, 7 at Peter, 7 at Andrew)
